Monday 29th April - walk ***** – Around Ewhurst in Surrey – sunny.

Woke to a sunny day at Sayers Croft at Ewhurst in Surrey, walked Arlo the Grandson to school before taking some pics of the iron age replica round house to send to the BBC weather, sadly no luck there:( Then breakfast and Rob got us a map of a local walk to a deer park which would do us today as we were knackered fron yesterday! Mag and I set off just past eleven to be caught up by Rob who had arranged for us to spend the day at RSH Wisley for a special price because Arlo’s school had made a visit ther last week and it was on the way home too, so that’s tomorrow sorted:) We quickly found the start of the walk but quickly got lost as we ambled across horse paddocks and parkland, just stunning with every in lovely spring green with some top trees. We eventually found our way to the deer park even though a lot of the footpaths were pretty wet and muddy! After taking some pics of the deer we set off again crossing sheep fields and after saying hello to a friendly horse we took a path which was more like a stream which led to a lovely wood with loads of wild deer footprints, we know we were heding the wrong way and came out on the main Ewhurst to Cranleigh road and had a walk a mile slightly uphill back to Sayeres Croft for a 3 mile walk, knackered again! After a rest and lunch we went to pick up Arlo from school, he was so pleased to see us and we took the long walk back through Sayers Croft woods in lovely sunshine. Then we drove over to Cranleigh rugby club to watch Arlo do his mixed Marshall arts class and really enjoyed! Top but tiring day:)
